Not sure if this class is suitable for absolute beginners though, it included plank, pikes, sit ups on the reformer, which if you struggle to do those on a mat, its even more difficult on a reformer. Plus, possibly a little dangerous if you fall or don’t have the strength to control the machine’s resistance. Reformer studio is new and clean with toilet and changing area.

alle beoordelingen weergevenKenneth's Elevate class is one of the better ones I have attended at YM and I have attended quite a few some of which were not very well thought out and felt all over the place. This one was very well sequenced and everything made sense from the warmup postures to the strength drills and they definitely helped with achieving the final pose. The peak pose was crow & firefly + combinations of/ transitions between these 2. I can already can do titthibasana somewhat decently but I still got some really good pointers and tips to improve my form and even be able to play around with transitions. Great sweat sesh too!

One thing I liked was that with each movement she will tell us whether to inhale & exhale — great for people like me who unconsciously hold my breath or breathe inconsistently when I'm going through the series of movements. She was constantly looking out for us and adjusting our postures as well.

It’s not stimulating or invigorating. It’s restless & fidgety. 3 breaths & we were fumbling to the next pose. I didn’t get a chance to stretch anything or rest or get a workout. The room was not heated to any degree that served a purpose, unless you were going for mild discomfort, then 10 points for Slytherin!

When came to the peak pose such as King pigeon, master spent more time on each student to help them go into the final pose. His students are so great and almost all are achieving it with little help. We also used the wall as the prop and master also had his students as well as himself to demo on how to go deeper in pose, how to relax and where to engage. Amazing class ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Also very thoughtful of her to give us a cold and scented flannel for cooling ourselves down afterwards. I know it might break up the flow, but I’d have loved to enjoy that cold flannel a bit longer, maybe from cool down/ savasana! Remember to bring some sort of mosquito repellent if you’re often bitten, or you’ll have to put in more effort to stay mindful in your practice, resisting the urge to itch 🤭

Angela is a great instructor, making sure to demonstrate and assure us that the exercises are safe and we will not fall. I was falling behind a little but didn't feel neglected as Angela helped me out. Overall great class! To note that gym does not proved bath towels (for rent at $2) and locker and sweat towels are for $2 refundable deposit. If you'd like to shower, seems like there is only body soap too. I see some people just leaving their bags at the bench outside the studio too. It is still within the gym so safe enough.

A must go for advance or beginner rider as she is not only patient in her explanation, but detailed. And this not a typical cycling class aint no bike cleats for you wankers as the bike aint build for it, so bring ur own shoes

The back exercises helped stretch and strengthen my back (my back is usually sore and achy from my desk bound job). Instructor was friendly, clear in his instructions and went around helping to correct our postures.
